Identifying Funds
This portion of your Toolkit has been designed to help you identify potential funding resources for your community- or faith-based initiative. Adequate funding helps your faith-based and community-based organizations build capacity necessary to accomplish its mission and goals. Without adequate and sustained funding, your initiative's impact on people and communities is less fruitful.
One source of funding is Federal grants. Grants are sums of money given to finance a particular activity or facility. Grants from the Federal Government can be awarded directly from a Federal agency to qualifying individuals or entities, to State and local government agencies for distribution to eligible individuals or entities, or to other types of organizations for distribution to a defined set of potential grantees.
